Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario Business Development team is expanding! If you are a committed and collaborative professional eager to contribute to a dynamic, innovative team, this opportunity is ideal for you. Reporting to the Bid Manager, your duties will include:
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders (corporate and operational) and external clients to coordinate, prepare, and review proposal responses for RFQs and RFPs related to large-scale P3 and AFP projects.
- Understanding our operations, project experiences, lessons learned, and solutions to craft impactful proposal content that highlights our value and differentiates us from competitors.
- Communicating with external stakeholders for clarifications and sharing key information to support winning proposals.
- Utilizing standard marketing materials to gather relevant content for proposals and presentations.
- Preparing customized presentations for business development meetings.
- Monitoring public bidding portals and notifying internal teams of bidding opportunities.
- Tracking industry events and coordinating attendance, sponsorships, and follow-ups.
- Updating the opportunity tracker and contact lists for business development activities.
- Assisting with bid bonds and insurance documentation, understanding various bonding and insurance options.
- Proofreading, fact-checking, and editing proposal responses for professionalism and accuracy.
- Managing RFQ and RFP documents, including revisions and addenda, with comprehensive documentation to support proposals.
- Participating in pursuit meetings to discuss project progress and strategies.
- Summarizing RFQ/RFP requirements and ensuring timely deliverables.
- Reviewing technical specifications and drawings to incorporate relevant information into proposals.
- Supporting contract reviews and negotiations on legal and operational terms.
- Performing other related duties as required.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Systems, Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation is an asset.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ proposal experience in engineering or construction projects.
- At least 5 years’ experience in an engineering or construction environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, PDF editing, graphics software, and collaboration platforms.
- Basic skills in 2D/3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam.
