Job Description

Purpose of the Job
The Power Platform & RPA Developer will play a key role in Equitable Bank’s strategic digital transformation initiatives. This role is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI, along with SharePoint site maintenance.

As an RPA Developer, this position provides technical expertise and contributes to the solution design, development, and implementation of business process automation (BPI) initiatives. Serving as the primary technology point of contact for RPA and Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) initiatives (UIPath), the developer collaborates with business analysts and technology teams (Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, and Information Management) to establish policies, set standards, and design scalable, secure, and efficient automated solutions.

A typical day in this role involves understanding business challenges and identifying automation opportunities, defining functional solutions for identified use cases & developing applications and automation workflows while collaborating with other development teams as needed.

This position is critical in bridging the gap between business needs and automation capabilities, ensuring the successful adoption of digital solutions across the organization.

Main Activities

  1. Develop applications using Microsoft Power Platform components, such as Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents.
  2. Assess suitability for solutions in Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.
  3. Implement UI automation, API-based automation, and attended/unattended bots.
  4. Implement robust exception handling in RPA workflows.
  5. Follow data security and access control policies while handling sensitive information.
  6. Optimize bot performance by reducing execution time and improving efficiency.
  7. Use Orchestrator (for UiPath) or Power Automate monitoring tools to manage and schedule bot execution.
  8. Document automation workflows, business rules, and SOPs for bot maintenance.
  9. Explore AI/ML integrations (like Azure AI, OpenAI, or Document Intelligence) to enhance automation capabilities.
  10. Improve automation by incorporating OCR, NLP, and intelligent document processing.
  11. Utilize problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot challenges; work directly with clients to support projects and solutions.
  12. Apply Power Apps with an understanding of customization, configuration, security, integration, extensibility, boundaries, and constraints.
  13. Provide architecture, configuration, administration, and functional support to expand Microsoft 365 capabilities and facilitate process improvement.
  14. Follow best practices for building and packaging Power Platform components.
  15. Develop, test, and support Power Platform components, including SharePoint Sites.
  16. Develop Azure logic apps and functions to extend Power Platform capabilities.
  17. Design end-to-end solutions to improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing.
  18. Create custom connectors for Power Automate.
  19. Design and architect solutions addressing business requirements and objectives.
  20. Create design specifications, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  21. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure agreement on coding standards, feasibility, and hosting solutions, considering architecture, security, and business continuity.
  22. Mitigate security risks related to threats, poor design, unsecured data, and vulnerabilities.
  23. Assist in vendor and tool evaluation based on features, scalability, and compatibility.
  24. Oversee infrastructure setup for development, testing, and production environments.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • A motivated self-learner capable of carrying concepts from planning to implementation.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in technology, with at least 2 years in RPA-UIPath and 2 years in Power Platform.
  • Expertise in enterprise automation tools and software selection.
  • Advanced understanding of emerging technologies, security measures, data analytics, RPA, ECM, CRM, CMS, Workflow, and BPM software.
  • Knowledge of process assessments and RPA applications across business domains.
  • Extensive experience with RPA platforms like UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with end-to-end automation, data connectors, Dataverse security, and business systems analysis.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, MS Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint site administration.
  • Understanding of Power Platform licensing and D365 customization.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Argo workflows, and SharePoint online development.
  • Experience with data migration to SharePoint Document libraries.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Power Platform development and Microsoft Purview Compliance.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
