Purpose of the Job
The Power Platform & RPA Developer will play a key role in Equitable Bank’s strategic digital transformation initiatives. This role is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI, along with SharePoint site maintenance.
As an RPA Developer, this position provides technical expertise and contributes to the solution design, development, and implementation of business process automation (BPI) initiatives. Serving as the primary technology point of contact for RPA and Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) initiatives (UIPath), the developer collaborates with business analysts and technology teams (Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, and Information Management) to establish policies, set standards, and design scalable, secure, and efficient automated solutions.
A typical day involves understanding business challenges, identifying automation opportunities, defining functional solutions, and developing applications and automation workflows in collaboration with other teams.
This position bridges the gap between business needs and automation capabilities, ensuring successful digital solution adoption across the organization.
Main Activities
- Develop applications using Microsoft Power Platform components such as Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents.
- Assess suitability of solutions within Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.
- Implement UI automation, API-based automation, and attended/unattended bots.
- Implement exception handling in RPA workflows.
- Follow data security policies when handling sensitive information.
- Optimize bot performance and efficiency.
- Use Orchestrator or Power Automate monitoring tools for bot management.
- Document workflows, business rules, and SOPs for maintenance.
- Explore AI/ML integrations to enhance automation (Azure AI, OpenAI, Document Intelligence).
- Incorporate OCR, NLP, and intelligent document processing to improve automation.
- Troubleshoot and support client projects, understanding their pain points.
- Apply Power Apps with understanding of customization, security, and integration.
- Support Microsoft 365 capabilities and process improvements.
- Follow best practices for building Power Platform components.
- Develop, test, and support Power Platform components, including SharePoint sites.
- Develop Azure Logic Apps and Functions to extend Power Platform.
- Design solutions to improve collaboration and productivity.
- Create custom connectors for Power Automate.
- Design and architect solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Create technical documentation and diagrams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on coding standards, feasibility, and hosting decisions.
- Address security concerns including threats and data management.
- Assist in vendor and tool evaluations based on features and scalability.
- Oversee infrastructure setup for development, testing, and production environments.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Self-motivated learner capable of managing concepts from planning to implementation.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in technology, with at least 2 years in RPA-UIPath and 2 years in Power Platform.
- Expertise in automation tools and enterprise automation management.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies and security measures in data analytics, RPA, ECM, CRM, CMS, Workflow, and BPM.
- Advanced knowledge of process assessments and RPA applications across domains.
- Extensive experience with RPA platforms like UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience with end-to-end automation and proof of concepts.
- Knowledge of data connectors, security models, and SharePoint Online.
- Experience supporting business systems and working with SharePoint and MS Teams.
- Understanding of Power Platform licensing and customization of D365.
- Experience with PowerShell, Argo workflows, and SharePoint migration.
- Best practices for building Power Platform components and working with compliance portals.
- Strong communication skills in English.
