- Educational background in Education, Adult Education or related discipline
- Proven track record in creating and implementing competency-based training programs, combined with supervisory experience in a large, complex, unionized workplace
Assets:
- Certification or coursework/training in instructional design; public administration; change management; adult education; project management; continuous improvement or other leadership training
Skills required for success:
- Expertise in curriculum development and delivery across various methods like e-learning, face-to-face, and web-based training
- Proficiency in relevant software including authoring tools like Storyline and Captivate, as well as LMS configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience working with trades and operational roles, with knowledge of regulatory and legislated training requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, along with competence in Microsoft Office and Google tools

Conditions of employment and work environment\:
- Up to: 1 permanent, full-time position
- Hours of work\: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday
- Salary Range: $102,590.85 - $128,237.58 (Annually)
- This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Must arrange own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require business auto insurance
- Management and Out-of-Scope positions at the City of Edmonton are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the Civic Service Union 52 bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly

The Learning Solutions & Program Integration Supervisor is accountable for the planning, development, implementation and oversight of a full-scale learning program and systems for Fleet & Facilities Services Branch. You will provide advisory and liaison services for training related to the School of Business, OH&S, Enviso and other corporation-wide training requirements and opportunities. In addition you will oversee a team of training specialists accountable to support the delivery of training related to Fleet & Facilities programs/systems, facility maintenance requirements, equipment and standards.
What will you do?
- Oversee competency-based training for trades personnel and maintain the Fleet & Facilities training program
- Collaborate with operations managers to support safe service delivery, resolve issues, and ensure workforce requirements are met
- Supervise and mentor a team of training specialists responsible for delivering training on Fleet & Facilities programs, systems, equipment, and standards
- Develop comprehensive training strategies and detailed implementation plans, especially for the introduction of new equipment
- Provide expert advisory and liaison services for training related to the School of Business, OH&S, Enviso, and other corporate training initiatives
- Conduct consultations and collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify training needs and solutions
- Implement thorough needs assessments and develop evaluations to measure training effectiveness and return on investment, including data analysis and reporting
- Create frameworks, tools, and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality training delivery
- Ensure the quality of training content and instructional methods are effective and engaging
- Manage and optimize the learning/training management system(s)
- Develop and manage the training budget for the Fleet & Facilities Services Branch
- Research and implement new, innovative learning methodologies and oversee in-house learning facilities and equipment
- Actively participate in developing branch strategies aligned with corporate goals
- Ensure training standards are established, support processes are effective, and internal audits/quality checks are conducted
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to staff to enhance communication, problem-solving, and integration
- Facilitate issue and conflict resolution within the training team
