Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Technician to support our Water Business Line in Fort Mcmurray.

AECOM is one of the nation's leading water resources firms with opportunities to work with a wide variety of clients on water resources planning, engineering, and design projects. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, is customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver and ready to apply their knowledge and skill sets in order to establish a rewarding, long-term career utilizing principles and methods for water resources engineering projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements.
  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
  • General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Perform field surveys utilizing total stations or other relevant equipment.
  • Create survey drawings and quantity estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Conduct field inspections to monitor and assess the progress of all construction activities. Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, ensuring close supervision of contractors, equipment, rented equipment, and materials used.
  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifiacations:
  • Working experience related to water/wastewater or water resource

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $55,000.00 - $90,000.00.
