This job posting is for an existing vacancy and aims to fill a current position within our organization.

We are seeking a Wellness Manager for a full-time summer contract position at YMCA John Island Camp in Spanish, Ontario. Reporting to the Assistant Camp Director and General Manager, the Wellness Manager oversees the health, safety, and wellbeing of campers and staff, managing first aid and wellness incidents.

START DATE : May 5, 2025

LOCATION : Spanish, ON

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years in nursing from a college or university program (WES evaluation required for international education).
  • Experience with medication administration, primary care for children and young adults, and promoting health and wellness at camp.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct check-ins with parents and campers, including on the first and last days of camp.
  • Assess medical needs and coordinate treatment with on-call physicians.
  • Ensure first aid kits are properly stocked for on-site and outtrip activities.
  • Maintain documentation for medication administration and wellness visits.
  • Perform daily rounds of accommodations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Wellness Centre.
