As a Trust Officer working in a Scotia Wealth Management office, you will be a trusted, experienced relationship manager supporting the company's strategy and revenue goals. Your focus will be on delivering a best-in-class client experience tailored to your clients' needs and expectations, while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. You will also assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities both within and outside Scotia Wealth Management. Your client-centric approach, proactive attitude, and detailed technical knowledge of Estates & Trusts will be essential.

Supporting a Senior Trust Officer, you will manage an account portfolio of varying size and complexity, with primary responsibility for daily account management, oversight, and administration for client, beneficiary, and Co-Trustee relationships. By understanding client goals and circumstances, you will collaborate with the broader team to deliver comprehensive wealth strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Relationship Management & Client Service
    • Provide a proactive, personalized client experience to high-net-worth clients and beneficiaries, ensuring accurate account administration and demonstrating technical expertise and integrity.
    • Assist in building effective internal and external partnerships to deliver seamless financial solutions.
    • Support revenue collection efforts, including forecasting and fee collection, and recommend non-standard fee arrangements when appropriate.
  2. New Business Development
    • Identify and escalate new business opportunities from account management activities.
    • Develop strategies and maintain a prospect pipeline to drive sustainable growth.
  3. Risk Management
    • Ensure account administration complies with policies and standards, escalating issues proactively.
    • Maintain knowledge of relevant legal, administrative, and economic issues impacting account management.
    • Communicate effectively on legal, estate, trust, and financial matters with clients and advisors.
    • Promote a customer-focused culture and consider the bank’s risk appetite in daily activities.
    • Ensure operational controls and compliance with conduct and risk standards.
    • Contribute to an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven success in high-net-worth client relationship management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Change management skills and adaptability to new technology.
  • Professional or industry accreditation, along with a university degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
