Title: Centralized Trust Associate - Bilingual Required (French/English)

As a Trust Associate with Scotiatrust’s Centralized Trust Administration Group (CTAG), you provide proactive administrative and client service support to Senior Trust Associates and Scotiatrust Relationship Managers with the day-to-day management, oversight, and account administration for client, beneficiary, and Co-Trustee relationships.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  1. Assist the Senior Trust Associate with providing a best-in-class, proactive and personalized client experience to high net worth clients and beneficiaries.
  2. Maintain daily surveillance over cash positions and provide reports for any cash positions that require remedial attention.
  3. Create/input accurate and timely accounting entries for payments to third parties, realization of assets, fee collection, referring all unusual items for further action as required.
  4. Prepare detailed fee calculations in Estate and Trust accounts in accordance with fee agreements or local judicial/industry practice.
  5. Prepare routine correspondence and documentation, including draft documentation in respect of matters that policy requires be submitted to the appropriate internal oversight groups concerning beneficiary/court approval of fees and statements.
  6. Proactively liaise with internal support groups (i.e. GWO) to investigate and resolve issues.
  7. Process new account openings in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Assist with the collection and validation of client documentation and AML/KYC materials.

Additional Accountabilities:

  1. Adhere to and implement centralized functions as published to provide additional support to all Scotiatrust branches.
  2. Accurately operate within Scotiatrust systems (i.e. Estate Settlement, Broadridge) according to procedures.
  3. Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  4. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  5. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, ensuring adherence to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
  6. Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

In this role you will also be:

  1. Working with a lot of paper and files.
  2. Organizing and shipping documents around the country.
  3. Data entry for an account file update project.
  4. Working mostly onsite with consideration for hybrid.

  • Bilingualism - Must be fluent in both French and English
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Computer skills working with client CRMs and Excel.
  • Proactive with a proven track record of providing a best-in-class client experience.
  • Proven aptitude to learn new concepts and readily apply them to day-to-day tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and a proven ability to multi-task.
