Description

Under the direction of the Principal/Vice-Principal, uncertified casual occasional teachers support students within the classroom, provide supervision, and must be able to respond appropriately when issues arise. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering interactive lessons and providing support virtually as required.

The uncertified casual occasional teacher must possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic School system.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Individuals enrolled in a Faculty of Education.
2. Ability to ensure the safety and security of students.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
4. Willingness to work with students with differing needs and capabilities.
5. Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information.
6. Ability to work with students from different cultural and language backgrounds.
7. Ability to work as a team player, follow instructions, and use initiative.
8. Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills.
9. Experience working or volunteering with children and adolescents.
10. Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment.
11. An updated résumé and cover letter.
12. A minimum of two professional letters of reference.
13. A current positive Catholic Pastoral Letter of Reference (dated within the last year).
14. Vulnerable Sector Check - Dated within the year and provided by a local police service. Any costs are the applicant's responsibility.

Additional Information

Location: Elementary Catholic Schools within the Greater Hamilton Area.

Hours/days of work are based on the needs of the Board. School start/end times vary.

Salary: $186.00 Per day
