The Cahill Group is seeking eager and collaborative candidates for a Corporate Buyer position in St. John’s, NL. This role offers the opportunity to work within our dynamic Supply Chain team, developing procurement sourcing strategies and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The Corporate Buyer will be responsible for creating and managing purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures.

The responsibilities include issuing RFPs, negotiating commercial terms such as price and delivery of materials, equipment, and services, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders including estimating, project controls, and project managers. This is a permanent position with a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work at our corporate office.

What will you do?

• Review BOM, develop procurement plans, and analyze field requisitions to develop sourcing strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Issue RFPs and negotiate terms focusing on total cost of acquisition.
• Create and manage purchase orders according to company policies.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Perform other duties as required.

What will you bring?

• Minimum of five (5) years of buying experience.
• Construction experience, especially in electrical and/or mechanical fields, is an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Professional certification from organizations like SCMA or NISCL is an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems and digital document control platforms.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
