Job description

Pricing : The Product Coordinator – Pricing, reports to the Manager, Pricing & Product Implementation and is responsible for the support and application of Rocky Mountaineer’s product pricing strategy, for all product and services within Rocky Mountaineers Product framework. Working closely with the Product Optimization, Inventory and Research and Analytics teams, the Product Coordinator – Pricing, utilizes a variety of data-sets and market research to inform product pricing decisions to maximize revenue generation while ensuring an unparalleled value proposition.

Inventory : The Product Coordinator – Inventory, reports to the Manager, Product Inventory and is responsible for maximizing the availability of product and package inventory within internal systems, ensuring products are continuously available for sale. Working closely with the Product Optimization and Research and Analytics teams, the Product Coordinator – Inventory, utilizes a variety of data sets to inform inventory allocation decisions to maximize revenue generation while ensuring an unparalleled overall guest experience.

Key Areas of Accountability

Product and Services Data Accuracy

  • Maintains current and complete product knowledge and has ability to hold discourse on current and upcoming RM package products, as outlined in the 1-3 year product strategy
  • Ensure systems and documents always reflect accurate product and supplier information
  • Enter and maintain product and supplier information across systems and documents
  • Regularly follow up with suppliers to ensure information is accurate
  • Collaborate with team members in Revenue Maximization, Operations Planning, Marketing and Sales, to ensure balance in written product information (clarity, conciseness, consistency, tone of voice)
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all sales and marketing materials containing product information, and is active in the the creation of the Product and Pricing Catalogues
  • Maintain reservations and sales support collateral and ensure messaging and package / product details are consistent and up to date
  • Liaise with sales, operations, and reservations teams to identify gaps in support materials and develop solutions
  • Analyze feedback from customers, suppliers and internal teams and suggest improvements to our guest facing documents
  • Analyze guest feedback for opportunities to improve existing product and collateral
  • Support Product Build in preparing systems and materials to support new product launch, product improvements and training
  • Review internal feedback and resolve issues in a timely manner and / or coordinate with Operations Planning team members to resolution
  • Overall high level of individual responsibility is required, ability to work independently.
  • Necessitates a willingness to embrace challenge and change, and to work in a highly entrepreneurial way with the guidance of leadership.
  • Assess and implements ways of improving product offerings for internal customers and external guests

Product Pricing and Costing

  • Assist in the preparation of seasonal package pricings and distribution of taxes for Product, IT, & Marketing
  • Supports the Product Build coordinators with the entry and maintenance of accurate cost and sell rates in internal systems; with scheduled bi-monthly reviews
  • Reviews all contract details in coordination with the Procurement team, ensuring products and services are updated following internal policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Partnership Marketing team to support the production of sales support tools (tariff…etc.)
  • Active in the application of pricing adjustments as required and generate initial pricing suggestions for new product offerings.

Inventory Management

  • Continuously review inventory levels of rail, hotel and land experience services to ensure availability for package sales.
  • Works closely with the Inventory Yield Specialist applying ongoing forecast models to support package inventory controls.
  • Effectively communicates inventory changes in allotment variations.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand growth.
  • Liaise with team members in Reservations, Marketing and Revenue Maximization to inform growth trends and highlight potential opportunities.
  • Accurately enters hotel and land experience block allotments as confirmed by suppliers’ pre-season, supporting initial system product load
  • Monitors inventory allotments during season to validate ability to sell packages, making adjustments as necessary based on demand.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.

Reservations System Application INVENTORY :

  • Work closely with our IT team conducting testing of new features, system upgrades, version development and provide feedback
  • Understand operational requirements of Product Build processes and works with the team to suggest development items which may reduce and / or simplify processes, resources, and workload

Administration

  • Maintain and forward up-to-date information of department’s suppliers and policies to key internal stakeholders such as Vacation Consultants, Product Management, GEC etc.
  • Process voicemail and e-mail in a timely manner
  • Develop & maintain good supplier relationships, as required
  • Mindset of continuous improvement for department processes and procedures, while maintaining consideration of the needs of other departments
  • Perform other duties assigned by the leadership team within Revenue Maximization Create and participate in maintaining an up-to-date detailed training manual for inventory control processes
  • Support Product team as latest information and rates are loaded into Kaptio
  • Assist Product team with special projects, as required
  • Immediate departmental assistance with time sensitive and priority projects in Revenue Maximization

Qualifications

Education / Certifications / Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years post-secondary education preferably in Statistics, Business Management or Travel / Tourism
  • Experience in process review and implementation
  • Experience and knowledge of travel reservations systems
  • Extensive experience with yield management / managing inventory and producing detailed analysis / reports

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Outlook, and data base applications such as Smartsheets
  • Excellent excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $51,000 - $55,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Rocky Mountaineer’s Bonus Program
