About the Company

About the Role - Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for new products and assist in creating business cases.
- Analyze how new products align with strategic market needs and consumer preferences.
- Determine design requirements based on briefs from internal teams and external partners.
- Employ Feature-Driven Development (FDD) and Agile methodologies to meet milestones.
- Collaborate with Innovation Counsel and Product Strategy teams to understand product requirements and design preferences.
- Conduct consultations and gather information to create design briefs.
- Generate innovative design concepts aligned with consumer needs and project goals.
- Present proposals to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
- Lead and participate in design critiques and collaborative development sessions.
- Create detailed product designs using industry-standard tools, including sketches, 2D/3D models, and technical drawings.
- Ensure designs meet quality, functionality, ergonomics, and manufacturing standards, considering user experience, aesthetics, codes, and compliance.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Assembly (DFA), and Environment (DFE), focusing on sustainability and ease of manufacturing.
- Oversee prototype development for testing and validation.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine designs based on feedback.
- Research and recommend materials and processes aligned with budget and project requirements.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including specifications and bills of materials.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from concept to production.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve product lines post-launch through revisions and updates.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance design practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, or related field.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Product Designer, ideally in manufacturing or industrial design, or 4+ years in product development or engineering environments.
- Proficiency in 3D solid modeling software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of design principles, user-centered design, and human factors engineering.
- Passion for innovation and industry trends.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and rapid prototyping.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with 3D solid modeling software.
- Background in manufacturing or industrial design.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and processes.
