Qualifications

About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Clinical Services Operations Manager, the Pharmacist will provide direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients as part of the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include patient counseling, medication monitoring, student mentoring, drug utilization reviews, liaising with community pharmacists, and providing education and drug information. The Pharmacist may also participate in clinical pharmacy research related to the division's projects.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Graduation from a recognized School of Pharmacy
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
  • Hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent patient care experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of medication safety and therapeutics
  • Experience in evidence-based clinical research (asset)
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
  • Fluency in other languages, especially French, is an asset

Hours

Long-term assignment, 100% FTE, 75 hours bi-weekly, approximately 15 months.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $47.03 - $58.77
Candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
