What you can expect to do here:

  • Perform conceptual, feasibility, and detailed engineering design work.
  • Support laboratory testing protocols and R&D initiatives.
  • Conduct field work, data analysis, and calculations.
  • Develop, write, and review equipment specifications.
  • Mentor junior employees.
  • Write and review proposals, technical memos, and reports.
  • Perform project management or engineering management duties as required.
  • Conduct audits and troubleshoot existing mine infrastructure.
  • Provide on-site support and supervision during construction.
  • Drive plant commissioning activities.
  • Follow health and safety responsibilities under applicable legislation and policies.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in mining or mill operations.
  • Experience with backfill plants, tailings disposal systems, infrastructure, and material handling.
  • Proficiency in laboratory testing protocols for backfill operations.
  • Development of underground distribution systems and slurry transport models.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Professional Engineer accreditation in Ontario or another Canadian province.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project, and general computer skills.
  • Safety-first attitude and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

Salary Range (British Columbia): $121,600 - $167,300. Final salary may vary based on education, experience, and other factors. This range is subject to change.
