BC Children's Hospital seeks a Physician Clinical Associate for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This role involves providing direct clinical care to critically ill children, mentoring, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must have a medical degree, BC licensure, and PICU experience.

BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) provides specialized healthcare services for the province's most critically ill children and young people, including developmental and rehabilitation services. It is a leading acute care teaching facility engaged in research through the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with UBC. BCCH is part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which manages province-wide health services across BC, committed to values like Patients First, Excellence, and Results.
The UBC is Canada's third-largest university, known for research excellence and economic impact. The PICU is a state-of-the-art 28-bed unit within the Teck Acute Care Centre, handling over 1200 admissions annually. It offers advanced care including ECMO and neurosurgical intensive care, and is a leader in the field.
Your primary responsibilities include direct clinical care of critically ill children, supporting their families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You will provide advanced support, including Extra-Corporeal Life Support, and assist in outreach and inter-hospital transfers, requiring experience in transport medicine. Mentoring and teaching responsibilities may also be part of your role.
Qualifications include a medical degree from an LCME-accredited school, current BC licensure, at least six months of PICU experience, and transport medicine experience. Additional subspecialty training is an asset.
