Position Overview
The candidate will be part of the district technology support team, collaborating with school staff and team members. Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, are essential.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Data Management
- Manage the accuracy, integrity, and security of student data.
- Develop and implement data validation protocols to ensure data quality.
- Manage data imports, exports, and integrations with other educational platforms.
Reporting and Analytics- Manage reporting projects to meet stakeholder needs.
- Produce data analyses to support decision-making at district or school levels.
Team Leadership and Support- Conduct training sessions on system functionalities and updates.
- Manage system inquiries and escalations.
- Collaborate with administrators, educators, and IT staff to address data needs.
Project Management- Assist with implementation projects related to new features or modules within the SIS.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Policy and Compliance- Ensure compliance with district policies, data privacy standards, laws, and provincial regulations.
- Establish and enforce data access controls, user roles, and permissions.
- Review and update documentation regularly.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience with student information systems, preferably PowerSchool or similar.
- Technical expertise in configuration, administration, customization, integration, data management, and report building.
- Support experience with PowerSchool modules like Gradebook and registration.
- At least 5 years' experience in a business environment focusing on process improvement and data analysis.
- Experience with systems such as SRB AtrieveERP, Edsby, SchoolEngage, School Messenger, FES, SharePoint, Office 365, and Google for Education is an asset.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to work on-site.
- Must provide drivers abstract, criminal record check, and intervention record check.
