Overview

The Tax HR Business Partner (HRBP) collaborates with the Canadian Tax Management and Leadership teams to develop and implement talent management strategies and programs within Tax. As an ‘HR Account Manager’ for the Tax function, the HRBP works with specialists across Talent Attraction, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and other HR Business Partners to assess the current state, recommend future improvements, and ensure effective talent deployment, retention, engagement, and development.

What You Will Do
  1. Participate as an active member of the National HR Leadership Team representing the Tax function.
  2. Serve as an internal consultant to the Tax team, providing strategic insights and solutions for talent needs.
  3. Share industry and market best practices, and offer thought leadership on organizational and talent strategies.
  4. Build strong collaborative relationships with senior leadership to add value to business results.
  5. Provide HR direction during business planning, working closely with Tax Leadership and the HR Leadership Teams.
  6. Analyze talent issues with the CMP and TLT, partnering with Centers of Expertise when needed, and bringing data-driven insights.
  7. Develop talent through succession planning and next-generation leadership processes.
  8. Identify opportunities for teamwork, growth, and development within the Tax function.
  9. Drive cross-functional efficiencies by collaborating with other HR Business Partners.
  10. Act as a liaison across HR functions to ensure aligned and optimized HR services for Tax.
What You Bring To The Role
  • 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR practitioner.
  • 5+ years in professional services with a deep understanding of Tax and current talent trends.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and influence at leadership levels.
  • Extensive HR experience including rewards, performance management, career development, learning, and organizational development.
  • CHRP or equivalent is an asset.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analysis, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with timely, relevant insights for leadership.
  • Strong skills in understanding business issues, building rapport, listening, diagnosing, and influencing.
  • Fluency in English, with ability to support English-speaking colleagues and interpret policies, laws, and regulations.

The position offers a salary range of $115,500 to $193,000, with potential bonuses, based on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG provides a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
