Please be aware that this is a full-time temporary contract for 12 months with possibility of extension.
A typical day would involve:
- Reviewing current backlog items, prioritizing the pipeline, and sharing relevant updates on current tasks at hand to raise awareness and remove roadblocks or configuring applications.
- Employing analytical and problem-solving skills to reported issues and work requests related to the Core Banking System that supports Vancity’s Financial Products and Services as well as our back-end payments, financial and accounting processes.
- Identify, analyze and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets to diagnose data quality and integrity issues and properly assess financial impact/risks to the customers and the organization.
- Active participation in collaboration sessions with cross functional teams of business and IT professionals to explore potential solutions and recommend best approach through thorough analysis of impact and value delivered.
- Inform and engage stakeholders as required on product development so that communication is current, complete, and timely and to manage risks during development with clear direction from IT leaders.
- Review and assess system capabilities and translate complex business requirements into technology specifications to inform the development or configuration of new applications and/or systems.

- Team Player: You are able to engage with members of your team as well as cross-functional teams and are willing to take on responsibilities that may be outside of your normal day to day tasks to promote progress in projects and initiatives.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
- Min of 1 year experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role.
- Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment, balancing competing priorities and multiple deliverables.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in formal documentation of functional and non-functional requirements are a major asset.
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzing.
- Proven working experience in data analysis and adept in writing SQL queries.
Bonus points, if you have:
- Business Analysis or IT certifications would be an asset (CBAP, AAC, TOGAF, ITIL).
- Experience in Finance and Accounting Systems (Assets and Liabilities Management, P&L Reporting, Income Tax Reporting, Accounts Payable, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (OSFI, FINTRAC, PCI, IFRS, BCFSA).
- Knowledge of various project lifecycle methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.)

Salary Range: $64,500.00 to $ 96,500.00
