A leading firm in Ontario seeks a Tax Professional to assist clients with complex taxation matters, prepare and finalize tax returns, and lead client meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to professionalism. Assists clients and team members with complex day-to-day taxation matters and questions.
Communicates directly with clients and outside professionals on tax work being conducted at the Firm.
Reviews and finalizes complex personal, trust and corporate tax returns.
Prepares, reviews and finalizes special elections and other tax filings including T1134, T2054, T2057, T2058, T2062, T2091, UHT-2900's, etc.
Prepares and reviews research memos to support an opinion on sophisticated tax matters.
Plans and implements corporate reorganization work for clients (estate freezes, purifications, butterflies, rollovers, succession plans etc.).
Reviews and provides feedback on legal instruction letters prepared by the Tax Department.
Participates or leads client meetings regarding tax transactions.
Prepares quotes or estimates of fees for certain tax engagements.
Collaborates closely with the Tax Partner to achieve continued growth and development of the Firm's Tax Department and services.
Qualifications :
Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or working towards it.
Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a Public Accounting Firm.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service and relationship building skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction to team members.
Excellent attention to detail skills with the ability to ensure the accuracy of pertinent financial and tax information.
Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with a team.
Must possess a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
