Research Assistant

Employment Status: Temporary Part Time (0.8 FTE with possibility of 1.0 FTE)

Duration: May 2026 - subject to change

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (9 am - 5 pm) - subject to change

Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site

Employee Group: Non Union

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Research Operations

The Role

Humber River Health's Research Institute focuses on health services research to improve healthcare delivery in hospital and community settings. We seek a skilled Research Assistant in health services research to support our Research Chair in Primary Care and Population Health Systems. Your work will contribute to innovative research in primary care and population health, supporting Humber’s commitment to open science. You should enjoy learning, collaborating, and being passionate about healthcare improvements.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and launch research projects.
  2. Coordinate activities across multiple projects.
  3. Ensure projects meet milestones and are successfully executed.
  4. Assist with participant recruitment, consenting, onboarding, and data collection.
  5. Conduct literature searches and synthesize findings.
  6. Assist with data cleaning and analysis (quantitative and qualitative).
  7. Contribute to writing academic articles and grant applications.
  8. Participate in knowledge sharing activities like journal clubs.
  9. Support knowledge translation and dissemination (reports, presentations, posters).
  10. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and record keeping.

Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, health technology assessment, psychology, data science, or related fields.
  • Research experience in university or academic hospital settings.
  • Experience with participant recruitment, consent, and data collection.
  • Knowledge of research best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability.
  • Passion for improving healthcare delivery.
