Renovations and Building Maintenance Associate

Location : Edmonton, AB, Canada

Job Description

Boardwalk provides Canadians with quality, comfortable rental apartments and townhouses across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Quebec. We are seeking a skilled candidate with experience in building maintenance and renovations to handle maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring residents' peace of mind. If you are mechanically inclined, good with your hands, and passionate about fixing things, this role is ideal for you.

Responsibilities :

  • Respond to maintenance requests within 72 hours
  • Perform on-call emergency maintenance as scheduled
  • Maintain, renovate, and touch-up vacant suites according to quality standards
  • Maintain common areas and the building
  • Coordinate inspections of turnover suites with the Customer Care Team
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and report findings
  • Ensure contractors complete work to standards
  • Participate in training and continuous learning
  • Assist with snow removal as needed
  • Complete administrative tasks using a tablet
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years of renovation experience

Technical Skills :

  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Familiar with technology and tools
  • Skills in painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, and flooring

Preferred Skills :

  • Additional expertise in framing, tiling, drywall, flooring, plumbing
  • Knowledge of hydronic heating systems and furnaces
  • Experience with doors, windows, cabinets, locks, and appliances

Non-Technical Requirements :

  • Own most tools listed during interview
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, lift up to 90 kg with equipment
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Additional Requirements :

  • Reliable vehicle and clean driving record
  • Valid driver’s license
