ERP System Replacement

Position Summary

The City of Victoria is seeking a new ERP System to serve as a modern, evergreen platform, which will be the cornerstone of its digital transformation journey. They are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of the ERP Replacement Project from the City's side. This individual will collaborate closely with vendor-side Project Managers to support the organization through this significant technological change.

Scope of Work

Reporting to the CIO and working with the City and a Consulting team, the PM will be expected to project manage the ERP Replacement project, taking a hands-on approach to ensure the project is delivered in the most cost-effective manner. The anticipated level of effort will be approximately 30 hours / week.

The City of Victoria views Project Management as the comprehensive management and control of all aspects of the Project throughout all phases of the Project’s life cycle to achieve prescribed objectives defined in terms of time, quality, sustainability, and cost. Through the application of appropriate management techniques, the Project Manager will lead and manage the efforts of the Project Team to achieve the goals and objectives of this Project. The following is the scope of Services the Proponent is expected to supply :

  • Overall project management of the ERP Replacement project including :
  • Manage the existing ERP Replacement project plan for each of the project phases;
  • Regular (weekly) team meetings with City staff, consultants, and project sponsors to monitor progress;
  • Workshop / session planning and scheduling as needed;
  • Change, Decision, Risk, and Issue management;
  • Manage communications and documentation in Microsoft Teams and associated SharePoint Site;
  • Communications with the project team, impacted staff, and management.

Mandatory Qualifications

The proposed IT PM must have the following skills and attributes :

  • At least 10 years of IT project management experience including a proven track record successfully leading ERP replacement projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with project management tools, Microsoft Project and Planner are preferred.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools is preferred.
  • Experience working in a local government environment is preferred.
  • Certification with Change Management is preferred. (PROSCI preferred)
  • Working Independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and interviewing skills.
  • Implementation planning.
