Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for loading unwrapped, primary packaged, and secondary packaged products into applicable packaging.
  • Responsible for building pallets based on customer requirements.
  • Must be able to count properly and have a keen eye for quality.
  • The position involves standing for long periods and doing repetitive work.
  • Committed to ensuring that the products produced meet all food safety and quality requirements.
  • Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Policies.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and reporting any non-compliance issues to their immediate supervisor.
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.
  • Comply with all SunOpta Quality and food safety standards, HACCP, GMPs, Organic, GFCO, SQF, Kosher certificate, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
  • The backup for this role is an alternate Production Worker.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Good verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills with a can-do attitude.
Additional Considerations:
  • Location: St. Davids, Ontario.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • 100% of work is performed in a production environment.
  • Must be available to work weekly rotating shifts: days, afternoons, nights.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
  • Competency in performing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Reliable transportation is required (location is off bus route).
