Job Summary
We are currently seeking a patent agent to join our collaborative intellectual property team, where engaging challenges await.
This position will mainly require you to:
- Draft and prosecute patent applications in Canada and internationally;
- Prepare written opinions on patentability and the validity or infringement of patents;
- Participate in strategic processes related to innovation, intellectual property, and due diligence in commercial transactions;
- Conduct technical and legal analyses of patents and handle patent litigation cases as a lawyer, an agent, or both.
Required Qualifications
- Registered patent agent with the College of Patent Agents & Trademark Agents (CPATA) or at least four (4) years of relevant experience;
- Undergraduate degree in a science or engineering field such as mechanical engineering, physics, or related disciplines;
- A graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in science is an asset;
- Lawyer registered with the Barreau du Québec is an asset;
- Fluency in both French and English is highly desirable.
