About The Role

The Team Lead is responsible for leading the activities of production and operation workers on their assigned shift. They ensure production schedules are followed and completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Expedite production and manage workflow to meet targets on time and to quality standards.
  2. Monitor and report team performance to the Manufacturing Manager.
  3. In the absence of the Manufacturing Manager, assign work, control and maintain production.
  4. Resolve minor conflicts and performance issues, reporting incidents to the manager.
  5. Oversee shift operations ensuring compliance with labour standards, health and safety policies, and corporate standards.
  6. Ensure plant workers perform duties safely, using protective devices and measures as per regulations.
  7. Participate in health and safety risk identification and reporting.
  8. Follow company policies and procedures.
  9. Address production planning issues related to material shortages and schedule changes.
  10. Identify opportunities for waste reduction and process improvements.
  11. Train new employees on equipment operation, safety, and work procedures.
  12. Foster an environment of continuous improvement, open communication, and customer service.
  13. Make timely decisions under pressure.
  14. Ensure work orders are completed timely and within budget.
  15. Coordinate with other team leads and departments.
  16. Report deviations and risks to management.
  17. Ensure product quality in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  18. Communicate potential risks and improvement opportunities to management.
  19. Manage job rotation schedules and training.
  20. Assist with break relief, QA, print setup, and manpower coverage as needed.
  21. Complete operator training and documentation.
  22. Manage work order allocations, labeling, and record-keeping.
  23. Update production schedules and review work orders.
  24. Complete SAP production entries and perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, particularly with injection moulding equipment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of product lines, codes, packaging, supplies, and inventory control.
  • Supervisory training, WHMIS, health and safety knowledge, and safety regulations are assets.
  • Manual dexterity and motor skills for assembly and equipment operation.
  • Interpersonal, negotiation, and judgment skills.
  • Basic math, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of company policies and ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Willingness to participate in QA and print setup training.
Job Requirements
  • 40 hours/week, various shifts.
  • Not eligible for remote work or relocation.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
