The Senior Data Scientist will contribute to the development of Artificial Intelligence-driven sensing solutions for the food and agriculture sector. The successful candidate will develop and implement AI platforms utilizing various machine learning methodologies, including neural networks, deep learning, self/auto learning, and SVMs, tailored for customer applications. Familiarity with data processing techniques such as image processing, signal processing, and pattern recognition is essential.
What exactly would you be doing?
- Participate in the development of Savormetrics’ AI Platform.
- Lead the development of machine learning algorithms including neural networks, deep learning, self/auto learning, and SVMs.
- Develop feature engineering techniques.
- Design and implement analytics software solutions for customers.
- Design and implement data collection and interpretation software solutions.
- Understand customer product requirements and their relation to AI training and prediction design.
- Develop new algorithms for increased accuracy and efficiency using research and customer data sets.
- Create, organize, manage, and analyze large datasets for R&D and product development.
- Ensure software platforms complement hardware for optimal performance and meet customer requirements.
- Rapidly learn customer requirements and develop domain knowledge of the focused business sectors.
- Design, execute, and report on commercial testing.
- Support development activities and participate in workshops, conferences, and events with stakeholders.
- Provide second-line support for customer issues.
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
- Perform additional duties as required and demonstrate commitment to professional development.
Education and experience required
- High-functioning MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience with machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, statistical learning, pattern recognition, and image processing.
- Knowledge of image processing techniques.
- Experience with software/hardware interfacing is advantageous.
- Experience in optics/scientific instrumentation is beneficial.
