Job Description

Reporting to our Company's Associate Director of Sales within the Farm Animal Business Unit, the Account Manager is responsible for achieving the annual sales and business objectives within his/her territory by developing, implementing, and monitoring the Territory Tactical Plans, ensuring alignment with Regional and National Business unit objectives. It is essential that the Account Manager demonstrates leadership to foster collaborative relationships and build meaningful partnerships with internal stakeholders and channel partner organizations.

The Account Manager must understand customer needs and maintain client satisfaction while ensuring clear communication of complete product information. This is achieved through ongoing face-to-face and virtual calls with targeted Dairy and Beef Producers, aiming to increase sales and market penetration. Responsibilities also include conducting Continuing Education meetings, attending product and sales training, and participating in conferences and conventions.

The Account Manager develops strong relationships with key customers, including Key Opinion Leaders and community advocates within their geography. Tasks should be carried out in line with our Company's Values, Standards, policies, procedures, industry standards, and legal regulations.

The role involves optimizing business potential through effective analysis, planning, and organization. The Account Manager manages territory data using CRM or other tools and handles administrative duties such as weekly reports, expense reports, and client requests.

This full-time position is targeted for Ontario, Manitoba, and parts of Atlantic Canada, preferably based in Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategies with the Associate Director of Sales to accelerate sales using all available resources.
  2. Manage Livestock Monitoring product portfolios, providing onsite sales and technical support.
  3. Implement Key Account Management principles, including creating and maintaining account plans that identify threats and opportunities.
  4. Coordinate activities supporting account growth, including regular communication with relevant teams about needs and planned activities, and gather market intelligence.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with account stakeholders, presenting product information and solutions to support their business needs, and understanding their requirements to inform our business strategies.
  6. Develop proposals, negotiate terms, and implement contractual agreements, ensuring strong financial results for the Technology department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or dairy-specific degree.
  • Relevant experience in sales, sales management, or marketing within the agriculture or animal health industry.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian dairy and beef industries.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work with dealers and distributors effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement detailed Account and Key Account Plans.
  • Excellent grasp of financial and business metrics.
  • Sound decision-making and innovative thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to balance Animal Health Intelligence with customer needs.
  • Capable of working in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Superior organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including at night.
  • Proficiency in office software and automation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
