Job Summary
The Business Systems and Project Lead is responsible for establishing plans and leading the organizational design of systems, processes, and communications that directly influence a student’s experience at CNC. The Lead directs, develops, facilitates, and implements enrolment projects and improvements while ensuring a student-centred approach that is tailored to the best possible experience for students. The incumbent acts as a liaison for the Office of the Registrar by providing specialized knowledge of enrolment systems, processes, and communications to college administrators, staff, and students. This position is integral to the institution’s strategic enrolment management plan, including enrolment planning and fiscal sustainability.
Specific Duties
- Leads business improvements and provides project management leadership for enrolment-related systems, processes, and communications, liaising with administrators, faculty, and staff across the college.
- Leads campus-wide modernization projects impacting students, staff, and faculty, including implementing self-service technologies using established project and change management principles.
- Collaborates with process improvement champions across the college to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversees development and maintenance of process documentation and training resources, supporting team members’ technical proficiency.
- Supports the Registrar and Associate Registrar in developing and maintaining system knowledge to deliver student-centered consulting to college leadership and stakeholders.
- Employs sound project management methodologies aligned with PMI standards.
- Provides leadership and training in data collection, standards, integrity, course and exam scheduling, reporting, and problem-solving in collaboration with Institutional Research.
- Coordinates with Deans on the accuracy and impact of scheduling information.
- Acts as an interface between the Office of the Registrar and ITS, working on projects related to ERP/SIS products, SQL reporting, CRM, AI Chatbot, and other systems to optimize utilization.
- Oversees fee systems and ensures accurate calculation of student amounts, including production of tax documentation (T2202).
- Stays current with system updates, new technologies, and practices through self-study and professional relationships.
- Participates in committees and external organizations to stay informed on trends and requirements.
- Provides coaching and feedback to strengthen team competencies in system use, data management, and project management.
- Uses Strategic Enrolment Management principles in communication strategies to guide students through application to graduation.
- Develops and maintains communication plans aligned with enrolment strategies, ensuring consistency and branding compliance.
- Tracks and reports on communication metrics, seeking innovative practices for engagement.
- Ensures team familiarity with policies, protocols, and procedures within the Office of the Registrar and beyond.
- Attends meetings and participates on committees as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- At least 5 years of recent related experience, including 2 years in project management within a Registrar’s Office; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Expertise in post-secondary operations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong leadership qualities including initiative, decision-making, creativity, and accountability.
- Ability to synthesize data to optimize processes.
- Knowledge of policy development and administration.
- Strong technical aptitude and quick learner of new platforms and tools.
- Proficiency with ERP/SIS systems (preferably Colleague), CRM, MS Office, database, and process mapping software.
