Job Description

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a range of tasks from administrative to strategic. Location: Pittsburgh, PA.

Accountabilities

1. Lead design reviews of new items and revisions, ensuring compliance with specifications and contract requirements.
2. Collaborate with Product Improvement and Component Engineering teams to update and maintain mechanical and electrical design documentation.
3. Address manufacturing process issues, including design improvements and obsolescence resolution.
4. Analyze material, component, and design issues, proposing resolutions. Oversee engineering documentation, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
5. Conduct design analyses using FEA, environmental testing, and reviews. Prepare detailed reports on findings.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis using Ansys.
• 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of machine design, manufacturing processes, and machining.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and 2D drawing software, such as Solid Edge.
• Experience with creating, reviewing, and maintaining drawings and Bill of Materials.
