The Accounting Manager is the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring event budgets are managed effectively, job costs are accurate, and financial processes align with client expectations. This role has a direct impact on the financial integrity of our events, influencing pricing strategies, forecasting, and overall client satisfaction.

The Finance and Accounting Manager is a key individual contributor role within our organization, reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President of Finance based in the United States. This Canada-based position works closely with global and regional leadership teams to align financial goals with strategic objectives.

Expedition Expectations
Accounting
  • Cash Receipts Management: Track all receipts deposited to RBC, post to Central Command (Unit 4), and manage client third-party payment portals.
  • Accounts Payable: Review and post wire transfers, ACH payments, and cheque batches, ensuring accuracy to client job costs.
  • Accounts Receivable: Review invoices, partner with account teams, and monitor outstanding invoices to maintain client relationships.
  • Cash Advances: Prepare, process, and track cash advance requests and collections.
  • CIBC Bank Account Management: Maintain the bank account for cash advances and ensure sufficient funds.
  • Client Procurement and Compliance: Serve as financial liaison, ensuring invoicing and reporting compliance.
  • Contractor Payroll: Manage contractor payroll submissions, costs, and communications.
  • Employee Payroll: Process expense reports and onsite payments, posting journal entries accordingly.
  • Moneris Management: Manage e-commerce accounts, match deposits, and support payment collections.
  • Sabre / Trams Interface: Process daily air ticket transactions, reconcile reports, and serve as backup for account reconciliation.
Finance
  • Maintain and update Pro-Income statements, balance intercompany accounts, and perform job closings and reconciliations.
  • Support client account teams with financial closeouts and calculate final commissions.
  • Manage monthly accruals, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare year-end audit schedules.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across teams for accurate reporting, ensure compliance, and identify process improvements.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and participate in client reviews with financial insights.
Working Conditions
  • Use of office equipment, sitting for extended periods, and occasional travel (10%).
Passport to Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or CA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems like AccPac / Unit 4.
