Job Summary:
This Senior eHealth Enterprise Architect role involves defining and implementing the IT architecture vision, strategy, and principles for a health system. The position requires translating business needs into cost-effective, integrated solutions, promoting the architecture vision, and leading the development and execution of enterprise architecture strategies. This includes overseeing system integration, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing architecture plans to support interoperability across multiple clinical systems. The role also encompasses strategic architecture initiatives such as developing roadmaps for shared services and designing architecture for major enterprise platforms (CRM, IAM, cloud, FHIR integration) and AI applications. Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Responsibilities: - Lead the development and execution of enterprise architecture strategies for health information systems.
- Provide expert architecture guidance for operationalizing shared services and aligning with the IT operating model.
- Define and implement IT governance structures, developing contracts and service level agreements.
- Oversee the integration and rationalization of IT systems for seamless interoperability.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement effective IT architecture governance.
- Develop architecture plans to support IT interoperation across multiple clinical systems (e.g., Connect Care, Netcare, EMRs).
- Advise on architecture supporting patient movement and continuity of care.
- Guide architectural design for command centers and clinical operations support.
- Create and maintain future-state architecture documentation, roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
- Stay current with healthcare and technology trends to foster innovation.
- Engage stakeholders and support change management and performance tracking.
- Develop comprehensive IT architecture roadmaps and operational/change management plans.
- Design architecture for major enterprise platforms (CRM, IAM, cloud, FHIR integration).
- Create strategic AI architecture for clinical, administrative, and audit use cases.
Required Skills & Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience in enterprise application architecture, platform solutions, complex project leadership, and IT in healthcare.
- 2+ years' experience providing strategic organizational advice.
Preferred Skills & Certifications: - 2+ years' experience in clinical data integration.
- 2+ years' experience developing architecture standards and guidelines.
- Experience with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical contexts.
Special Considerations: - Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote. Must work within Canada.
- Standard hours are 8:15 AM 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Background check and mandatory training required.
- Contract position of up to 12 months, with defined evaluation criteria.
Scheduling: Standard business hours (8:15 AM 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday). Hybrid work schedule.
