Our client in the construction sector is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team. Your responsibilities:
Tasks:
* Assistance in preparing financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
* Participation in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closings
* Analysis and justification of closing accounts to identify discrepancies and correct them
* Preparation of accounting files for external audits
* Management of GST/QST reports
* Welcoming new employees (payroll setup, email, computer, benefits, etc.)
* Payroll management (payroll is outsourced) - CCQ (an asset) - USA (an asset)
* Management of benefits (RRSP and insurance)
* Supervision of expense and supplier accounts
* Control of project costs and revenues in relation to budgets, explaining discrepancies
* Assistance in cash flow management
* Other related tasks
The requirements:
* 5 years of relevant experience
* Bachelor's degree in accounting
* CPA candidate or CPA (asset)
* Excel - intermediate level
* Experience in the construction industry
* Experience with bookkeeping for American companies (an asset)
