The Senior Engineer is a technical expert responsible for leading complex engineering solutions across Air Canada's fleet. This role focuses on enhancing aircraft safety, reliability, and operational performance, providing technical leadership to cross-functional teams. Some travel and off-hours support are required due to the operational nature of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Establish standards for propulsion systems concerning technical, airworthiness, and operational aspects.
  • Develop maintenance programs to ensure propulsion system performance aligns with customer and corporate needs for cost and reliability.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve service, reliability, and passenger experience.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support across teams, including aircraft modifications, projects, and fleet acquisitions.
  • Assess technical and economic aspects of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives, recommending implementation strategies.
  • Lead projects aimed at fleet performance and cost optimization.
  • Develop engine budget assumptions and monitor shop visits to ensure budget adherence.
  • Review and approve financial aspects of airworthiness requirements and inspections.
  • Communicate technical information through fleet campaigns, Engineering Controls, and Instructions.
  • Represent Engineering in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing to fleet safety and reliability improvements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through modifications and maintenance optimization.
  • Prepare cost estimates, technical instructions, and project evaluations for various initiatives.
  • Create engineering documentation compliant with airworthiness standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and Transport Canada for technical matters.
  • Lead and oversee a small team of engineers.
