THE OPPORTUNITY
This role involves the organization and coordination of the strata council, which includes calling and preparing for meetings, the procurement of qualified services, resolving strata-related concerns, and ensuring duties under the strata property act are performed. Additionally, the Community Coordinator will provide caretaking and customer service for the strata. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping the community looking great by doing light cleaning duties in the common areas, interacting with homeowners around the property and assisting with trade access to the building. There is also basic office work, such as scanning, emailing, filing, working on Property/Strata Management software and general administrative tasks. This multifaceted role will have a function of maintaining common areas, while also providing direction and leadership as a strata manager.
You Will Be Working Closely With And Around Highstreet Homeowners, So Professional Appearance Is Necessary At All Times. Some Typical Tasks Include
- Maintain Highstreet's standard of appearance, upkeep, cleaning and maintenance within your community
- Assist the Strata Council in maintaining the look and feel of the community and supporting the enforcing the community promises (bylaws).
- Collecting quotes and coordinating trades on site; holding them accountable and ensuring work is completed on time
- Helping resolve common area maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Filling out reports and handing out notices as required
- Light shoveling around property entranceways
- Organizing folders, files, emails, keys, paperwork, and promotional materials
- Working with MS Office, Property Management software and other computer programs
- Support event organization and Highstreet Homeowner engagement
- Building relationships with homeowners and the strata council
- Posting updates to the community Facebook group
- Being on call during weekends and evenings
- Ability to do light repair work like patching and paint is not required but is an asset
- Completing basic filter changes on various HVAC systems in the property (training will be available)
- Daily site walks around the community to ensure community cleanliness and report/repair damage
- Reporting of any issues to the strata council and Highstreet
- Standard work week would be Monday to Friday

Required Experience
- Strong customer service background
- Technically savvy, and proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Good physical conditioning and stamina
- Willingness to work outside as required
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
- Some knowledge of what repairs and maintenance are required on a building
- Ability to complete general maintenance, using a variety of hand tools
- Knowledge of the Strata Property Act
- A strata management license would be considered an asset
