Full Job Description

We are hiring an Intermediate Interior Designer for our real estate development client. The successful designer will have 5+ years of experience, a degree in Interior Design, and demonstrate strong technical abilities. You’ll have the opportunity to work on residential and commercial projects, including multifamily residential and multiplexes. A driver’s license and the ability to travel on occasion are also required. Applications must include a portfolio with technical drawings to be considered.

About The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity involving both residential and commercial projects. The role includes mentoring and coaching a junior designer, leading design initiatives, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budgets, and participating in the development process from concept to construction.

About The Position

• Participate in the design development process from concept through construction.
• Coordinate with all involved parties from procurement through installation.
• Prepare and present design presentations.
• Manage all project documentation.
• Detail material specifications, finishes, fixtures, and source FFE.
• Draft and prepare plans and specifications in collaboration with vendors.
• Ensure projects meet deadlines.
• Conduct site visits and communicate updates and progress.
• Travel out of province and coordinate FFE.
• Manage RFIs and contract administration.

The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience with CIDA accreditation.
• 5+ years of experience in a studio setting or similar environment.
• Strong technical abilities, capable of producing clear drawings that communicate intent.
• Experience with contract administration and RFIs is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Experience in residential and commercial projects is an asset.
• Shop drawing review experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel around the Lower Mainland.
• Must submit a portfolio including technical drawings; applications without a portfolio will not be contacted.

Compensation

• Annual salary: $70,000 - $90,000.
• Comprehensive benefits plan.
• Three weeks' vacation.
