The Position:

As an HR Co-op Student, you'll support our growing team by assisting with key HR processes and projects that enable a positive employee experience and efficient operations. From preparing onboarding materials to maintaining employee records and contributing to policy and process improvements, you'll gain hands-on exposure to the daily workings of a small but mighty HR team in a purpose-driven company. This is a unique opportunity to build your professional skills while contributing to our mission of advancing science-based solutions for human health and the environment.

This position is for 16 weeks, starting September 2, 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation and maintenance of HR documents, such as contracts, policies, and employee files.
  • Updating employee records and databases accurately and confidentially.
  • Assist with HRIS data entry and play an active role in identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance system functionality
  • Preparing onboarding materials and assisting with new hire orientation sessions.
  • Conducting research on HR best practices to support process improvements and decision-making.
  • Helping coordinate and collect responses for employee surveys or feedback initiatives.
  • Providing support for ongoing HR projects, including process improvements and policy reviews.
  • Performing general administrative support and other ad hoc tasks as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with HR systems is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
