Responsibilities
- Develop, grow, and manage relationships with sources of client referrals and new requests to generate opportunities for new mortgage loans and increase BMO's market share in home financing.
- Proactively identify sales opportunities and recommend them to colleagues, if applicable.
- Design and implement effective marketing and sales programs to drive organizational results.
- Respect general policies, operational guidelines, and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate proactively with sources of client referrals and new requests identified through national partnerships and establish local partnerships for discussions on home financing solutions.
- Assist in implementing targeted marketing programs, promotions, and initiatives.
- Actively seek cross-selling and upselling opportunities to help the branch meet its sales and profitability objectives.
- Support the implementation of marketing programs, promotions, and other initiatives.
- Expand your network by obtaining referrals and new requests from existing relationships.
- Enhance the bank's presence in the community through participation in trade fairs, conferences, and related activities.
- Act in the best interest of the client during activities related to loan requests and processing.
- Perform necessary onboarding activities as needed.
- Offer exceptional customer service that builds trust through expertise and tailored support.
- Guide clients throughout the mortgage application and processing activities.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with branch teams for proper client handover and identify clients needing other banking products.
- Resolve or escalate issues to higher levels to meet client expectations and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service, responding to inquiries and identifying client needs for banking products, and directing appropriate referrals to BMO partners.
- Stay informed about client needs, sector trends, best practices, regulatory requirements, and policies related to products and services.
- Handle customer service issues within established parameters and escalate complex or persistent problems as needed.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Advise and guide the relevant business sector or group regarding the implementation of solutions.
- Support strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in setting business priorities and implementing sector or group strategies.
- Conduct independent analyses and assessments to resolve strategic issues.
- Coordinate with various BMO teams and clients to ensure home financing requests are processed satisfactorily.
- Document updates in BMO's internal systems to ensure all employees have access to current information on opportunities, transactions, and ongoing issues.
- Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Gather data and format it for regular and ad hoc reports and dashboards.
- Provide feedback on planning and implementing operational programs.
- Perform routine tasks (e.g., processing service requests, transactions, and inquiries) within relevant service level agreements.
- Organize information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with third parties to establish strong relationships that generate referrals and new mortgage loan requests for clients needing credit solutions.
- Perform all transactions in accordance with guidelines and other requirements to maintain operational integrity.
- Possibly focus on a specific business sector or group.
- Think creatively and propose new solutions.
- Use judgment to identify issues, determine causes, and resolve them within established limits.

Qualifications
- Generally three to five years of relevant professional experience with post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For positions requiring lender qualifications, credit qualifications, and related skills, in accordance with credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
- Deep knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Expert knowledge of self-management, teamwork, personal loans, and relationship management.
- Functional knowledge of retail banking services, investments, trust services, small business and corporate loans, and cash management.
- Very good knowledge of the real estate sector and mortgage market.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Specialized knowledge acquired through education or work experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Skills in collaboration and teamwork.

Compensation
Type of remuneration: Commissions

Salaries vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles are prorated based on hours worked. For roles with commissions, the mentioned salary represents BMO's target for the first year.
