Job description

Part-Time Banking Associate

Note: This is a part-time role requiring a minimum of 18.75 hours per week. Candidates should be flexible to work within branch hours and be available for 3-5 days per week.

As a Banking Associate, you will deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying their needs and providing advice on financial solutions that serve their best interests. You will work collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to ensure a positive customer experience and meet business objectives.

  1. Identify customer needs and initiate referrals to BMO colleagues.
  2. Support customer requests for banking services, including transactions and walk-in support.
  3. Welcome customers warmly and meet their banking and transactional needs efficiently.
  4. Promote digital and self-serve banking options to make banking easy, simple, and fast.
  5. Review customer profiles and engage in needs-based conversations to identify opportunities and address banking and credit card needs.
  6. Contribute to achieving branch business results and enhancing the customer experience.
  7. Support operational activities such as inventory management, processing service requests, following up on applications, and managing opening/closing activities.
  8. Manage cash transactions, including loading and reconciliation, between treasury and branch units.
  9. Execute routine tasks within service level agreements, including transactions and queries.
  10. Be a collaborative team member within the branch and market team.
  11. Understand customer personal banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing promotions into conversations.
  12. Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  13. Proactively find creative ways to personalize each customer’s experience.
  14. Seek continuous improvement in the branch customer experience.
  15. Support risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and maintain privacy.
  16. Stay informed about the financial marketplace, legal, and regulatory environment.
  17. Report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  18. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  19. Complete standardized tasks under supervision and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications:
  • No prior experience necessary; a post-secondary degree or certification is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of personal, commercial, and partner banking offers.
  • Comfortable using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Ability to help customers gain confidence in digital applications.
  • Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Resourceful, confident, and a team player.
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, and flexible response skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and collaboration skills at a basic level.
Compensation:
