The location in Crofton , ( British Columbia , Canada ), is seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer . This job is full-time permanent .

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a risk-based approach to assess operational performance (safety, production, quality and cost).
  • Interpret data to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities, prepare improvement project proposals, conduct cost-benefit analyses, perform process simulations, and support the annual budgeting and capital planning processes.
  • Manage process improvement projects, from start to finish, to de-bottleneck production, increase profitability and improve quality & sustainability.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to develop or embed best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Facilitate the change management process and coach key stakeholders through the process improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Operations, Technical, Maintenance, Finance, IT, Supply Chain and Safety, to ensure proper communication and technical consultation.
  • Provide hands-on assistance in modernization initiatives, such as automation, advanced control systems, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Maintain high visibility with operations, to solicit input for improvement ideas and ensure proper communication of change initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational leaders to drive operational excellence and sustain the benefits from improvement projects.
  • Conduct formal or informal training in process improvement and operational excellence methodologies, such as Lean manufacturing, Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Six Sigma.
  • Complies with OHS and organizational safety standards and practices.

Required Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Pulp and Paper Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Competent and effective communication skills required.
  • Proven ability in project management.

Preferred Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Certification in Lean and or Six Sigma, green belt level is desirable.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) is considered as a plus.

The salary for this position is CAN $75K-85K per year. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
