The Senior Project Coordinator, Truth & Reconciliation is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the roadmap for the Truth & Reconciliation plan at Doctors of BC. This role ensures alignment with the organization's commitments to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism, promote cultural safety, and maintain accountability to Indigenous partners and communities. The coordinator collaborates with internal teams, Indigenous leaders, external consultants, and system partners to integrate best practices, develop timelines, clarify roles and deliverables, and establish feedback mechanisms throughout all project phases. Key responsibilities include tracking and reporting on project progress, maintaining documentation, and ensuring alignment with the plan's objectives.
This position requires strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with diverse partners including Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous physicians, cultural advisors, and representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Doctors of BC Board, and other system partners. The Senior Project Coordinator acts as a key liaison, ensuring timely, culturally respectful communication tailored for different audiences. Responsibilities also include managing meeting logistics, documentation, and incorporating cultural protocols.
Working closely with the Portfolio Management and Change Leadership (PMCL) team, the Senior Coordinator contributes to organizational learning and planning by capturing lessons learned, ensuring project activities meet standards, and supporting continuous improvement. The role involves managing project budgets, maintaining progress trackers, and integrating feedback from Indigenous partners. The ideal candidate will have high cultural competency, organizational skills, and a commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation in healthcare.
