A growing communications firm seeks a Communications and Public Relations Director to lead business development and drive operational growth in Canada. Ideal candidates will have a strong client service record, strategic planning skills, and a proven ability to manage corporate communications and marketing projects.
The Opportunity A growing and values-driven communications firm is seeking a Communications and Public Relations Director in Toronto (or elsewhere in Canada) to lead business development efforts and help drive the growth of its operations in English Canada. The ideal candidate has a superior client service record, an impressive professional network, and a proven track record in new business development. Is experienced in strategic planning and running medium- to large-scale projects for a wide range of industries through corporate communications, public affairs, digital customer engagement, and crisis management, with a strong emphasis on leveraging these skills for new business development and market expansion. Is a quick and life-long learner and a credible expert who adheres to best practices in PR / communications, and is also innovative in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities. Is a natural leader with a network of industry contacts and a get-it-done attitude. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a public relations firm. Experience in managing large- and medium-scale corporate communications and communication / marketing projects. Experience in a political office or in a public relations firm is an asset. Excellent writing skills. A strong professional network and the ability to leverage relationships to support business development and visibility efforts. Diploma or degree in public relations, communications, political science, or any other relevant field from a recognized college or university, or equivalent experience. The Communications and Public Relations Director participates in the planning and execution of various projects through the following activities : Strategic planning and ongoing client counsel. Superior writing skills, with an emphasis on strategic plans. Participation in integrated communications campaigns, including various corporate and marketing communication disciplines.
