We are recruiting for the position of Superintendent - Production at Red Chris, with a competitive base salary ranging from $X,XXX.00 to $X,XXX.00, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications, plus a short-term incentive of 20%. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience and internal equity.

This role offers a Fly In, Fly Out schedule, working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Purpose of the Role

The Production Superintendent manages processing operation enhancements at Red Chris Mine, focusing on Fatal Risk Management, Full Potential, Expansion Operational Readiness, Long Term Planning, Geo-Metallurgy Oversight, Project Engineering, and optimizing connectivity between operations and metallurgy streams. The key challenge is managing diverse technical and operational processes to support safe, long-term processing through strategic planning and integration, especially during transitions from open pit to stockpile to block cave operations.

Responsibilities

Health & Safety (20%)

• Support and model behaviors for the Fatality Risk Management program, ensuring safety practices are fully implemented and risks minimized.
• Monitor incident statistics, ensure timely training, and act on FRM findings to promote safety maturity.
• Lead risk identification, develop SOPs/JHAs, and refine the authorization to work program.

Operational Excellence & Growth (40%)

• Review and report on department activities, ensuring adherence to plans and timely information flow.
• Develop and execute strategic plans and capital budgets aligned with site objectives and LOM plans.
• Innovate and optimize operational plans, including transition strategies and infrastructure integration.
• Manage mill shutdown planning, maintain the Ore Processing Management System, and oversee project activities related to block cave development.
• Ensure safety and performance of business partners involved in mill operations.

Environment, Social, Governance (10%)

• Ensure compliance with provincial laws, regulations, and internal standards.
• Address governance gaps and promote statutory and corporate standards.

People (10%)

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship within the department.
• Champion Full Potential Delivery, facilitate engagement between corporate support and operations, and support LOM ore processing planning.

About You

Requirements include:

• University qualification in Metallurgical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of ore processing experience, preferably in large-scale copper/gold operations.
• Project management training (PMI, IPMA, or similar).
• Experience in full production value streams and geo-metallurgy.

Skills include leadership, communication, problem-solving, technical knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Fluency in English is required.
