Interior Health Authority is expanding its Emergency Medicine group at the Penticton Regional Hospital. This long-term locum position offers a chance to work in a supportive team while enjoying the South Okanagan's exceptional lifestyle and recreational opportunities.
PRH is looking to expand its Emergency Medicine group and is seeking certified individuals (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada Emergency or Certificate of Canadian Family Practitioners - Emergency) to join our collegial team.
We have a dedicated group of 18 Emergency physicians from various backgrounds, including CCFP-EM and FP-EM, supporting an average of 41,000 visits annually. The department benefits from excellent specialist support, with double physician coverage during most of the day and evenings. PRH offers excellent radiology services, including on-site CT and MRI. We are also a Regional Trauma Referral Centre and collaborate actively with the University of British Columbia’s Southern Medical Program, providing opportunities to impact 4th-year medical students and Family Practice Residents.
This position offers the chance to enjoy the South Okanagan's exceptional recreation and culture, including world-class wineries, beaches, boating, hiking, fishing, golf, and rock climbing, all while working at the Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department.
This is a long-term locum position with the potential to transition to a permanent role. The locum period is flexible, with an ideal duration of approximately 6-9 months.
