Job description

Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to become a part of our team! You will be required to perform a variety of engineering tasks, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Draft routine working sketches and layouts.
2. Calculate basic engineering aspects of routine drafting problems like stress, sizing, and flexibility.
3. Determine material and equipment selection and create estimates and specifications.
4. Draft routine reports and correspondence.
5. Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
6. Create and revise CAD models and draw using computer hardware and software.
7. Develop 2D drawings from 3D models or parts in AutoCAD through common drafting standards.
8. Update and revise 2D drawings on changes needed by Engineers and Designers.
9. Manage drawing system integrity in the product data management system.
10. Complete drawing project groups by documenting and organizing.
11. Support Engineering Team.
12. Create manufacturing drawings from 3D SolidWorks models.
13. Manage drawing files and drawings and quality standards.
14. Check drafts and ensure accuracy and completeness with department designers.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in mechanical engineering or other related fields.
2. Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics.
3. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
4. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
5. Knowledge of AutoCAD.
6. Knowledge of SolidWorks.
7. Knowledge of other 3D Software.
8. Knowledge of sheet metal will be an asset.
