TEAM SIZE

THE ROLE

A key operator role responsible for comprehensive accounting operations and driving fiscal integrity at a growing independent educational institution.

• Financial Operations & Bookkeeping (60%)
• Reporting & Compliance (25%)
• Budgeting (10%)
• Tuition Assistance (5%)

THE TASKS

Financial Operations & Bookkeeping (60%)

• Responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable / receivable and bank reconciliations
• Maintain and oversee the school's general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions
• Track restricted and unrestricted funds in compliance with grant and donor specifications
• Oversee tuition and donation receipts
• Process tax receipts (high volume in Jan / Feb for Day of Giving, plus monthly)
• Manage payroll administration using and overseeing ADP Workforce Now
• Monitor cash flow, with particular focus on construction projects starting in summer

Reporting & Compliance (25%)

• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and management reporting with variance analysis
• Generate quarterly reports for Board committees and annual audit packages
• Coordinate government grant reporting for $650K+ funding streams
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and fund accounting principles

Budgeting (10%)

• Collaborate with the head of school, operations manager, etc., to prepare, develop and monitor the school's annual budget
• Prepare and track yearly budget to be presented to B&F Committee, Exec and Board

Tuition Assistance (5%)

• Oversee tuition assistance and Generation application process
• Prepare summary reports
