Your opportunity :

The Marketing & Communications team at the University of Toronto Scarborough is looking for a dynamic, innovative social media professional to join us. Our team is a highly collaborative group of Marketing Communications professionals, driven to find new and creative ways to reach our audiences. We bring the U of T story to life, every day. We are looking for a talented Social Marketing Coordinator to join the team. In this role you will contribute to the implementation of an integrated social media strategy for U of T Scarborough. You should have extensive experience creating compelling social media content, building engaging and relevant social media campaigns which integrate with broader marketing and communications initiatives. This role requires a collaborative communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. You should have expert level understanding of social media best practices and various platforms. We are a data-driven team, so a thorough understating of social media analytics is critical.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Liaising with colleagues across the University to ensure consistent and / or integrated messaging
  • Creating and editing social media content across multi-platforms
  • Tracking and monitoring (social media) communication activities
  • Analyzing and recommending options for the development of visual expression / layout of social assets
  • Maintaining information on social platforms
  • Advising others on social media and content
  • Advising on strategies to align social media with marketing / communication objectives
  • Coordinating social media updates and ensuring technical issues are resolved

Essential Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years' experience implementing integrated multi-channel social media strategies that drive strategic business objectives
  • Applicants are expected to show evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
  • Demonstrated experience creating innovative social media marketing solutions
  • Demonstrated experience balancing competing priorities and multiple projects concurrently and within tight timelines
  • Comprehensive understanding of Google Analytics and other ROI tracking tools
  • Well-informed on industry best practices and trends in social communications
  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms, social marketing and audience segmentation principles, practices and techniques to successfully expand online audiences
  • Thorough understanding of SEO and its function in driving content strategy
  • Well-informed on social applicable copyright, access and privacy laws
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and MS Office
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral
