- DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Information Technology Technician, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve various IT hardware and software issues and assist users in obtaining higher-level technical assistance as necessary. Specific duties include troubleshooting operability problems with landline and cellular telephones and portable/handheld or mobile radios by examining the problem; identifying the likely cause; and resolving, referring to centralized technical staff, or arranging for vendor servicing. You will also provide training and guidance to troop personnel in the use of telecommunications/IT hardware and software, and visit stations within the troop to perform scheduled checks and maintenance of equipment. Special attention must be given towards maintaining service and inventory control records for the troop's telecommunications/IT equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes).

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Two years of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance; or
- One year of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance and completion of a one-year apprenticeship in the IT technical support field;or
- An associate degree in an IT field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- You must be able to obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
