Job description

Formwork contractor seeking experienced and business-minded Superintendent for large RC-frame mixed use projects in Vancouver. Salary $90,000 - $120,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role. The Superintendent is an integral member of the project team, responsible for delivering construction projects of varying size and complexity, focusing on structural works including formwork, concrete foundations and suspended slabs, rebar, and architectural structures.

Duties & Responsibilities of Superintendent:

1. Capable and can bring their own experience and ideas.
2. Track daily concrete pouring and calculate the contact m2.
3. Manage setting out/project locates scopes as required.
4. Oversee Field Engineers and their various activities, such as maintaining RFIs and POs.
5. Handle procurement, deliveries, and return of equipment.
6. Run appropriate team meetings weekly/daily.
7. Ensure all project documents and files are maintained.
8. Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team.
9. Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
10. Improve company processes with a positive and constructive attitude and develop this attitude in others.

Qualifications of Superintendent:

1. Engineering or Project/Construction degree, relevant experience.
2. 7+ years of experience supporting the delivery of projects, with at least 2 years of experience in Canada.
3. Concrete forming/placement experience required.
4. Proficient in MS Office Suite of products.
5. Familiarity with construction methods and building codes.
6. Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
7. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
8. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
9. Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.

1. Willingness to take part in additional specialty training for tools, equipment, instruments, and safety.
2. Keen to take on responsibility and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
