Overview

GitHub helps companies and organizations succeed by enabling them to build better software, together. We're looking for experienced Senior Solutions Engineers in Canada to provide technical sales support for our enterprise customer base.

Our Senior Solutions Engineers manage technical relationships with customers and prospects, acting as trusted advisors to address technical objections and pain points in the customer’s SDLC. They collaborate internally with sales, product development, and industry experts to identify solutions that meet customer needs and drive digital transformation. They advocate for customer interests and align our offerings to meet their goals effectively, maintaining broad knowledge of GitHub's products and solutions.

Responsibilities
  1. Technology Strategy Formulation
  • Lead the Technical Sales Process: Own all technical aspects of the sales cycle, from discovery to qualification to proof-of-concept design/execution, ensuring a smooth transition to post-sales teams.
  • Identify Customer Requirements: Understand customer business and technical needs, align them with GitHub solutions, and support digital transformation goals through innovative features and best practices.
  1. Sales Partnership
  • Collaborate on Strategy: Build joint strategies with sales, customer success, Field CTO, and product teams, leveraging industry insights to drive adoption and enhance customer experience.
  1. Trusted Advisor
  • Act as a technical advocate and advisor, guiding customers through complex scenarios, including migrations. Establish relationships with decision-makers, advise on secure software practices, and promote the benefits of DevSecOps and AI.
  • Conduct live demos of GitHub’s products, incorporating industry trends like AI and DevSecOps into customer scenarios.
  1. Customer and Industry Insights
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GitHub’s products, industry trends, and customer challenges. Provide coaching and insights internally.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to advocate for their needs and influence product development. Address pain points by leveraging GitHub’s platform and integrations.
  1. Customer Enablement
  • Drive Customer Readiness: Use technical resources and enablement programs to accelerate adoption and integration of GitHub solutions, guiding post-sales teams based on customer goals.
  1. Marketing
  • Support industry events and marketing initiatives by creating technical content and participating as a speaker, showcasing GitHub’s capabilities and sharing best practices in Canada and the USA.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in technical consulting, sales, or related fields
    OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields AND 4+ years experience
    OR Master's Degree AND 2+ years experience
    OR Doctorate or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
  • French language proficiency at a business level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Canadian enterprise customers in technical sales.
  • Excellent communication skills, public speaking experience.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, AI’s impact on developer tools, and large software development teams.
