Provincial Preschool Autism Services

The service is a partnership between IWK, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia, offering person- and family-centered services to preschoolers suspected of or diagnosed with autism across Nova Scotia. Services include clinical intake, care coordination, family and professional education, parent coaching, autism diagnostic assessments, interprofessional interventions, intensive support, and transition to school assistance.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Psychometrist will support the Provincial Diagnostics team, assisting with referrals, scoring, collating questionnaires, managing clinical tools, creating process efficiencies, providing training, and administering assessments. The role involves collaboration with Psychologists and Administrative Assistants and supports the new Clinical Intake and Care Coordination Service under the shared accountability of the Centralized Waitlist. Responsibilities will be guided by Clinical Leaders.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with flexible hours required.

Your Qualifications
  • Masters degree (MA/MSc) in Clinical or School Psychology from an accredited university.
  • One year experience in administering and scoring psychological tests with pediatric populations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative, independence, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding and commitment to Family-Centered Care.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
